Our troop is fortunate to have a great fundraising activity – Christmas Tree sales. With a few weeks of concerted troop wide effort, we are able to raise enough money to cover a great deal of the cost of camping, summer camp, and other troop activities.
We get permits to cut trees in the local national forest, and then sell them for about two weeks after Thanksgiving and before Christmas.
Each family does about five half-day shifts and there is one day of tree cutting.
