BSA Troop 266

Troop 266 Tahoe City – Serving the North Shore of Lake Tahoe

Home

Troop 266 is a 60 year old Boy Scout troop located in Tahoe City. We meet every other week at the Tahoe City Cross Country Center.
We have at least one major activity a month (camping, hiking, mountain biking, ice skating etc.)
Scouting is a Scout led activity. Adult leaders are there to provide guidance and insure safety, but the Scouts run the show.
In 2020 we merged with Troop 37 from Incline Village.  Join here!

Camping

Camping

Camping is an important Scout activity. We try (weather permitting) go on six to eight overnight camping trips a year in addition to a week of summer camp.

Veteran's ceremony

Service Projects

Twice a year we have a Veteran's event with a 21 gun salute at Trails End Cemetery in Tahoe City. We also do clean ups, and help with community activities.

Teamwork

Activities

In addition to overnight camping, we go ice skating, mountain biking, hiking, swimming, and a variety of other activities throughout the year.

Summer Camp

Summer Camp

The troop goes to summer camp. Roughly every other year we go on a high adventure camp and every year we go to a local camp where we can earn merit badges (and have a lot of fun). Our scouts typically earn 4-6 merit badges at camp,

Fundrasing and Entreprenureship

We raise money for camping, summer camp, and other troop expenses by selling Christmas trees. This covers most of our costs in a few weeks of work.
